Our local English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel and take you by tuk tuk to the boat. Travel upstream to the beautiful area where the Nam Ou (river) meets the Mekong River. Passing the limestone formations of Pak Ou Caves you first will visit a village where you will see how the local whiskey is produced and handicrafts are for sale. Returning to the boat it is a short ride to Pak Ou Caves There are two caves to visit at Pak Ou, lower and upper. The view from the upper is spectacular. Returning to the boat, you then head downstream to Ban Xang Khong where you can visit several handicraft galleries and see the locally handcrafted mulberry bark paper being made, before returning to town. (Order may change depending on the accessibility by boat to each village).
