Your trip starts with our tuk-tuk picking you up from your hotel, or if close to our boat station, our staff will meet you and walk you there. At the boat, our staff takes you through the trip for the day, then leaving you in the hands of our trustworthy captain, the Banana Boat takes you across the Mekong to visit 200 year old Long Khoune Temple and it’s meditation cave. The temple attendant will give you a torch, or often you are guided by local children, to explore the formations in the depth of the cave. From Long Khoune Temple a short walk along the trail, takes you to you to the Chomphet Temple steps, you climb and enjoy a panoramic view of Luang Prabang. The boat awaits you at the bottom of Chompet steps.
Cruise the Mekong downstream to Ban Sing. You get off at this village and the captain accompanies you on local transport (flat bed truck) to get to Kuangsi Waterfall. Visit the Bear Rescue Area, which rescue bears from poachers, exotic pet owners, or people planning to use them in traditional medicine. Then enjoy swimming in the natural pools. Further on are the pools and trail that leads to the magical falls. Return same way back to the boat where you relax while enjoying beer, soft drinks and Lao snacks on your trip back into town. The tuk-tuk will transfer you back to your hotel. |
